About Leader's Stadium
Leader`s Stadium (Gym Heroes) is the fifth set in the Pokémon Trading Card Game, and it's all about the iconic Gym Leaders from the Kanto region in Pokémon Red, Blue, and Green. In Japan, it was called Leaders' Stadium and was the fifth set in the Pokémon Card Game. The English version came out on August 14, 2000, while the Japanese version was released earlier on October 24, 1998. Gym Heroes combines elements from the Japanese Leaders' Stadium and the Challenge from the Darkness expansion. This set introduced a cool new feature: Owner's Pokémon, which are Pokémon cards with a specific Trainer's name on them. You could see a small picture of the Trainer and their Gym Badge on the bottom right of the card. The retreat cost was moved below the Weakness and Resistance, and the usual Pokédex entry was removed. It also introduced Stadium cards, a new type of Trainer card. Leaders' Stadium was also the first Japanese set to include pre-built Theme Decks and was unique in having different set symbols for the English and Japanese versions.
